FoodleteBack

Privacy Policy

Not yet in effect — this is a pre-launch draft.

The short version

Foodlete stores what you log so it can give you targets. Nobody else sees it unless you add them in Share and choose exactly what they can see.

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites.

What we collect

Account: your email address, and your Apple account identifier if you sign in with Apple. We never receive your Apple password.

Profile: your sport, division, body weight, units, timezone and appearance preference. Body weight is required because carbohydrate and protein targets are set per kilogram.

What you log: food and drink entries, water and sodium, supplements, body weight and training sessions.

Training you connect: with your permission, workouts, active energy and body mass from Apple Health, and activities from Strava. Foodlete reads these. It never writes to Apple Health and never posts to Strava on your behalf.

Technical: crash reports and basic product analytics. Food names, notes and other log contents are never sent to analytics.

Health data

Data read from Apple Health is used only to set your nutrition targets inside the app. It is not used for advertising or marketing, is not sold, and is not shared with anyone except the people you explicitly add in Share.

You can revoke Foodlete’s access to Apple Health at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health. Targets then fall back to the sessions you add by hand.

Sharing

Sharing is off until you turn it on. When you invite a coach, dietitian or training partner, you choose which categories they can see (food log, macros and targets, training sessions, race plan, water and supplements, body weight) and when their access ends.

Body weight is off by default for every share.

These limits are enforced in the database with row-level security, not only in the app. A person you share with can read only the categories you switched on, and only while the share is active and unexpired.

You can change the categories or revoke access at any time, and it takes effect immediately. Views and target changes made by people you share with are recorded and shown to you in Recent activity.

A one-time report is a PDF for a date range, sent as a link that expires. It grants no ongoing access and never includes body weight.

Who processes your data

Supabase hosts our database, authentication and server functions.

Apple provides Sign in with Apple and, with your permission, Apple Health data.

Strava provides activity data if you connect it. Powered by Strava.

Our email provider delivers sign-in links, share invites and reports.

These providers process data on our instructions. We do not permit them to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Your logged data is kept while your account exists, because trends over weeks and months are the point of the app.

Deleting your account removes your profile, every entry, every session and every share. Backups are purged on their own schedule, within 30 days.

Your choices

Export: Settings › Export my data gives you everything you have logged as a JSON file.

Delete: Settings › Delete account removes your data. During the beta you can also email hello@foodleteapp.com and we will remove it within 7 days.

Correct: every entry, session and target is editable in the app.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal data. Email hello@foodleteapp.com and we will honour them.

Not medical advice

Foodlete is a tracking and planning tool for athletes. Its nutrition targets are general guidance drawn from common sports-nutrition practice, not medical or dietetic advice, and they are not tailored to any medical condition.

Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before making significant changes to how you eat, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating.

Children

Foodlete is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
